PLACES WE VISITED
This was another "travel" park. We didn't get out and around at all while here.
SERVICES
Site 86
AT&T, T-Mobile were both good - able to stream and work without issue.
50psi water pressure - was good once we figured out that the filter was plugged. 50/30 amp connection. Site was level - lots of grassy areas for the dogs.
This was one of the nicer KOA's we've stayed at. I only wish it had been warmer during our visit. It was mid-April when we arrived and the temperature was upper 40's. The sun helped but not that much. The day we arrived - it snowed.
We didn't get out into the nearby towns except for a quick trip for supplies. We can't really speak much to the area. There is an Air Force museum near by, we didn't go.
The park is clean, quiet, and well maintained. There is a lot of grassy areas for the dogs. Several community fire pits with swings, tables, and chairs. Large play area for the kids. There is also a large pool but was closed while we were there.
A small river runs through the park and in our case, right behind our site. Again, I wish the weather had been warmer so we could have enjoyed it.
The sites were good sized, level, and private. There was a lot a rain in the weeks leading up to our visit and we didn't notice any flooded out sites. The park is easy in - easy out and is near the expressway for a quick on and off while traveling but the park is absolutely nice enough for a longer stay.
We came to stay here through some unusual circumstances. We had originally planned to stay at Arrowhead Resort that is part of the "Outdoor Adventure" system. About two weeks before our arrival a tornado went through the park and it was destroyed. Denise had to scramble to get us a place to stay on our way up. She found this place and we took a chance - worked out very well.
We would definitely stay here again but would like to be here in warmer weather to enjoy the park more. I'm sure there are many other things to do in the area and we would like to check it out.
